In the second round of the UEFA Champions League group stage, Harland scored a last-minute goal to help Manchester City kill off Borussia Dortmund. Harland said after the match that it was great to be reunited with his former teammates, and he praised his opponents for their outstanding performance. "At the end we showed what we can do and that's all we needed to do. I'm proud of how we played in the last 25 minutes."
In the 84th minute of the match, Harland scored a high goal from a pass by Cancelo, to which he said, "It was a very good pass by Cancelo and it was a big win."
But this game was, after all, against his old team, and he was facing a comrade he had played alongside a few months ago, and Harland had mixed feelings. Dortmund defended Harland for most of the game, but he finally broke through.
Harland said: "It was nice to see everyone. They didn't stop me from scoring. They did a good job and I was sure I would be watched the whole game because the Dortmund boss knows me very well."
Since joining Manchester City, Harland has scored a staggering 13 goals in eight games.
