OKBet sports: Ryan Day beat Mark Allen 10-7 to win his fourth individual ranking title and £100,000 in prize money, moving up to 16th in the world rankings.
Ryan Day played against Robbie Williams in the semi-final, and after being 1-3 and 2-4 down in the first four games, he came back in three straight games to win 6-5 in the deciding game and meet Mark Allen, who beat Thai player Sangkham 6-1 in the final.
The final match was played in a 19-game, 10-win format. In the first half, the two sides did not give up to each other, Allen hit two shots to break 100, and blasted a 126, 75 and 105 points, while Ryan Day returned a single shot 58, 77, 73 and 58 points four 50+, and the two fought to 4-4 in the first half.
After Allen took the ninth game in the second half, Ryan Day tied the game with a 58 in the tenth. Allen won the 11th game with 53 points, and Ryan-Day won the 12th game with 79 points to 6-6. Allen won the 12th game to lead 7-6, but then Ryan-Day made a strong effort to win four games in a row, scoring 74, 70 and 84 points to win 10-7, getting the fourth title of the individual ranking tournament and the £100,000 championship prize money, and getting a ticket to this year's Crown in Crown Invitational.
In the world rankings after the British Open, seven-time World Champion O'Sullivan topped the list, followed by Trump, Robertson overtook Selby to move to third, Selby and Higgins to fourth and fifth. Karen Wilson, Zhao Xintong, Mark Williams and Hawkins ranked sixth to ninth.
Mark Allen moved up to 10th after finishing runner-up at the British Open, Breacher 11th, Lissowski 12th. Murphy dropped to 13th, Bingham 14th, Yan in 15th, and Ryan Day soared to 16th after taking the British Open title. Zhou Yuelong and Luning were 23rd and 30th, Xiao was 35th, and Ding Junhui dropped to 36th.
