September 04 Cleveland Cavaliers 8 for 1 to get Mitchell, but their new lineup predicted to win less than 47 games, in the East are not ranked in the top five, it is difficult to be seen as a championship favorite. Beijing time on September 3, the American media suggested that the Cleveland Cavaliers while the iron is hot, continue to find the Raptors to trade, trying to replace the new star Anunoby, to fill the team's biggest shortcomings on the wing.
In order to get Mitchell, the Cavaliers have given away a lot of their draft picks and can no longer provide the Raptors with the resources to do so. However, they still have a number of tradeable chips in their lineup, such as Osman, who has been previously touted, and players like Leveille, Wendler and Okoro.
The Cavaliers have listed Garland, Allen and Mobley as non-sellables, and with the newly acquired Mitchell, their backcourt and interior are strong enough, but they lack good wings, especially good defensive wings. This is the biggest shortcoming of Cleveland Cavaliers. Leveille has good physical condition, but his defensive skills are still not enough.
Raptors' Anunoby happens to be the best of the new generation of 3D players and fits the needs of the Cavaliers. 2021-22, Anunoby averaged 17.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game on 36.3% shooting from three. He is capable of shooting 37.2 percent from three for his career. Anunoby has three years left on his contract with the Raptors, the last year of which (2024-25 season) is a player option. Salaries for those three years are $17.35 million, $18.64 million and $19.92 million, respectively.
There are a lot of trade rumors about Anunoby, and the Raptors don't seem to be averse to trading him. If you can get Anunoby with the right chips, the Cavaliers' biggest shortcoming can be filled, and perhaps become a team with a real chance at a title run.
