On Friday, December 6 and Saturday, December 7, 2013, Ball State University will be hosting its 3rd Annual BSU Honor Band Festival. The honor band is open to all high school students through a nomination process.

The purpose of the BSU Honor Band Festival is to provide an opportunity for students to perform in an outstanding musical ensemble, become more excited about music and music making and work with a distinguished conductor. It is our sincere desire to provide the best possible experience for your students.

Enclosed you will find a nomination form to use when nominating your students.

Please consider the following when nominating your students:

1. Nominate only your students who have achieved a high level of performance skills.

2. Nominate students who have great attitudes and are willing to learn.

3. Nominate students who will appreciate the opportunity to grow as musicians.

4. Nominate students who WANT to attend.

We ask that you are specific about each of the students you are nominating. Carefully consider each student and nominate only those who have expressed an interest in participating and who can guarantee that they will attend if selected.

Since this is a two day event, students have the choice of commuting or staying in a local hotel for $20.00. BSU music students will serve as chaperones. Breakfast on Saturday will be provided at the hotel for students staying there. All other meals are covered by the students.

Please return your nomination forms to the address listed below by October 21, 2013. It is our desire to notify students of their acceptance to the ensemble by November 1.
