A Message from Dr. Shawn Vondran

Dear Pride of Mid-America Parent(s) and Family Members:

It is again my privilege to announce that we will hold our "Pride of Mid-America" Family Day during the 2012 season. This year's Family Day will take place on Saturday, September 28th, 2013 when Ball State takes on Toledo at Scheumann Stadium.

We started Family Day as a way of giving something back to you, our extended family. Without you, the band's success would not be possible. We had over 400 family members join us for last year's Family Day and we are hoping for even more this year!

With that being said, I invite to be an honorary member of the Pride on September 28th. I am inviting you, as parents and family members, to join us for the entire day and be a part of this new tradition for the band - now in its second year. You'll be with us as we rehearse in the morning, eat lunch with us before the game, march into the stadium with the band and sit with us during the game. It's your chance to see what your student is doing with our band from up close.

Please remember that this event is not just for mom and dad. All members of your family are invited, including siblings, grandparents, cousins and family friends.

Here are the details: for family members and friends, the cost of participating in the event will depend on the type of shirt you wish to order - $30 if requesting a t-shirt or $42 if requesting a sweatshirt. You will receive a 2013 Family Day t-shirt (gray) or sweatshirt (gray) with a NEW color design on the front that you will wear during the day and as you march with the band through the stadium entrance. Thanks to our partners in athletics, we are able to offer game tickets for family members and friends at a reduced rate. Additionally, a lunch will be provided so that you can grab a bite with your student before the game ($10 for band members without a BSU meal plan). Lunch will be served outside the stadium (location TBA).

We will meet Saturday morning at Schuemann Stadium for rehearsal. Registration will begin two hours before rehearsal (time TBA). During the game, family members will sit next to the band in the stands. Please fill out the enclosed form and return to the address below with a check or money order made payable to Ball State University.
